september 18th, 2002. a day that will live on in infamy. and the day that we started a.m.p. - against manufactured pop. "what is it?" i hear you cry... well, simply put, it is a movement by us, on behalf of us and you, to make our voices heard. ok, to begin with, it will be more like a whisper but, if you are against record companies, managers, producers, anyone who selects four or five pretty boys or girls then force feeds them down our fucking throats, then this is for you. whether or not you like us is irrelevant. whether you like what we do is immaterial. if you love music played by real musicians, real bands and real writers, you need to help us claim it back. the way things are going, in 10 years time, the only music we will be exposed to is what "they" want you to hear. no longer will we have the freedom of choice that is so important to us. the manufacturing process will start spreading until every genre of music is covered. hell, already there is talk that certain heavy metal bands are manufactured. if it's happening in metal, it's happening everywhere... now, we're not saying that there should be no manufactured stuff. after all, we're not stalinists! the point is to make sure that it doesn't end up being all we hear. at the moment, the record companies hold all the aces. all they do is stick it together, throw a load of cash at it and see what happens. if it takes off, great, we have yet another fucking westlife or n'sync. if it doesn't, those boys and girls are back on the streets sucking cock for their next big break. so join the revolution now. all you have to do is grab a banner and stick it on your site. that is one extra voice. one extra protest. if only 100 people ever see it on your site, that is another 100 people who know how fucking pissed off we are. and out of that 100, 1 might grab a banner and do the same. we do stand a chance, but only if music is important enough to you to save. what are you waiting for?? cut and paste the html below (you might need to do it in a text editor) and stick it in your site. it will automatically link back to this page so someone else can find out about it. you could do a page on your site dedicated to it. do a whole fucking website!! just get off your fucking ass, stop looking at porn and do something now!!! please cut the text from this box to get the a.m.p. logo we also have a dedicated webshite for this and an online petition - links are above.
